Hand blown Vandermark art glass vase decorated with outstanding bright colored spring flowers on a green colored background. It was hand blown so when the light hits the vase, you can see beautiful shimmering gold speckles throughout the vase. The vase is signed by Vandermark, Doug Merritt and the glass blower Stephen Smarr. Merritt came to Vandermark and built a glass blowing team, which included Stephen Smarr and others.
Vandermark-Merritt glass studios commenced in 1972. In 1974, they began to produce art glass.
In 1982 Vandermark-Merritt Studios was one of two contemporary studios that were featured at the Corning Museum of glass show.
